Corinth Cycling Club Member Profiles

Samuel Pyeatt with wife Susi
Place of birth?
Dallas, Texas.
What got you interested in cycling?
We were on our way to Mexico last July (05) and one of the many hurricanes hit the day of departure. On our way home we stopped by Bluebonnet Bicycles in Lewisville, using our vacation money to buy two bikes (mine turned out to be Lance Hendrik's old bike. Susi got a new one).
How long have you been cycling?
Since July 20, 2005 (6,500 miles, 11 months)
Club nickname?
Slammin' Sammy
What is your occupation?
Director of Operations - Furr's Cafeteria
What is the primary bike you ride?
Specialized S-Works Roubaix (2005)
What is your favorite thing about the Corinth Cycling Club?
The people. I have learned more from other riders than from any other source. Every ride is full of humor and great conversation. We are always in the moment not worried about yesterday or tomorrow, just the ride.
What is your favorite meal after a long day in the saddle?
My treat is one of Susi's smoothies made with Light Cranberry, Frozen Smoothie Fruit, and 25g Soy Protein, and (4) 500mg chewable vitamin C.
Favorite restaurants?
Don Camillo's, El Matador, Bari's.
Favorite television shows?
24 and sports (Our new TV does not get sports I'm told)
Favorite pro cyclist?
Lance is my hero. Next would be my riding partner Dale (Breakaway) Metz. The only guy I know who starts a breakaway going uphill
If you could ride your bike anywhere in the world, where would it be?
France, or anywhere in Europe, or the California coast line.
